White Shino Dot Carafe

$95.00

Approx. 4" w x 6.25" h

Wheel-thrown , altered, and glazed by hand. This carafe features grip indentations, Shino glaze with large turquoise/copper dots on a high fired, high iron, dark clay body. Excellent for pouring brewed coffee or decanting a half bottle of wine.

Shino glazes are distinctive in their surface effects that happen naturally during firing. Carbon trapping is one such beautiful reduction surface effect. As the name implies, the surfaces are characterized by variegated patterns of grey and black caused by carbon that gets trapped under the surface of a glaze or clay body during reduction firing.

One-of-a-kind piece. Continental US shipping included.
